The client is a well-known certification company that offers digital prep content, such as courses, mock exams, webinars, and others.

They wanted a scalable AI solution that would turn their digital platform into a smart prep ecosystem, improve learner outcomes, and overcome the following key growth constraints:

    Many learners dropped off or failed exams due to ineffective, one-size-fits-all preparation strategies.

    The eLearning platform didn’t have capabilities to predict outcomes or intervene in time.

Solution

After having examined the whole situation closely, the Aristek team suggested designing an AI-powered framework that would not only tackle all the challenges but also be cost-effective — an AI certification coach.

The AI certification coach would be embedded into the client’s LMS and had to be able to:

Project scope

The Aristek team relied on subject matter expertise in AI-based development, the R&D department’s innovative approach, and experience in the EdTech domain. The project included the following steps:

  • 1. Discovery phase

    We conducted stakeholder interviews (Product, Education, Support departments) to map learner journeys across 5 popular certification tracks and define success metrics (e.g., pass rate uplift, ticket volume drop, upsell conversion).

    Next, we performed a data audit (checking their consistency, the number of missing values, diversity), and validated the client’s ideas in terms of their feasibility with the current data.

  • 2. Development

    The development phase included building an AI readiness scoring model, which was previously trained on success/fail patterns, mock test results, activity logs, and other clients data. Also designing personalized guidance engines with study plans, practice targets, and exam countdowns.

  • 3. Integration

    Next, we embedded the AI assistant into the client’s eLearning platform (LMS). The backend team leveraged Python-based microservices on AWS Lambda for scalable performance. API integrations included inline support, nudges, reminders, progress tracking, and certification status systems.

  • 4. Testing & launch

    In this phase, we piloted 300 real learners from PMP and AWS cohorts, collected UX and results data, and iterated it on tone, frequency, and feedback logic. Then enabled an A/B test of AI-coached vs. control group prep results.

How AI coach works

Learners select a target certification and input their personal learning context. For example, their jobs, responsibilities, previous experience, career goals, learning preferences, etc.

The real-time readiness score tracks learners’ progress and predicts pass likelihood.

Then, the AI coach creates a personalized prep plan, which includes skill gap breakdowns, practice exam recommendations, study focus zones per week, micro-guidance, and more.

Next, it syncs with the platform calendar and sends nudges based on time left for task completion.

In general, the AI coach provides ongoing guidance and monitors learners’ engagement to ensure successful certification prep.
