About the author
Ruslan Makarsky is the Co-Founder and CCO at Aristek, with over 20 years of experience working at the intersection of technology and education.
His connection to EdTech started early. Long before online learning became a common term, Ruslan’s first projects as a founder in the early 2000s were already focused on educational software. Those early experiences shaped a lasting interest in how learning systems are built, how people interact with them, and why some tools actually work while others don’t.
Ruslan holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and an MBA, combining an engineering mindset with a clear business view. Over the years, he has worked with schools, universities, learning platforms, and professional training providers, gaining a practical understanding of learning management systems, content delivery, and the real-life use of digital education products.
As a parent of two, Ruslan sees education not only as a professional field, but as something that continues throughout life. He pays close attention to curiosity, motivation, and the ability to learn independently – topics that often influence how he thinks about technology in education.
Outside of work, Ruslan is a licensed light aircraft pilot. Flying requires focus, preparation, and calm decision-making – qualities that also shape how he approaches long-term projects, teamwork, and responsibility in his professional life.
